100% Positive Feedback (1804 ratings) on Amazon Marketplace for TheJapanShop.com!

Wow. I knew we had really good customer service ratings & reviews at Amazon Marketplace, but I just realized we have 100% positive LIFETIME ratings. Click here to see more…

BTW, although we sell on Marketplace and I deeply appreciate any order from any source, our books on our website are usually much cheaper. Amazon Marketplace has a pretty hefty charge which means theJapanShop.com is almost always cheapest.

Still, I’m thrilled about the ratings because we try to be 100% customer focused. We have a 60 day refund window and 100% of the purchase price is refunded both at Amazon.com Marketplace and TheJapanShop.com (unless the book is damaged or written in…)

If I may brag a little… If you look on Amazon, very few merchants have 100% positive ratings. 🙂

I wish I could contact iPhone / iPad / iTunes Reviewers

We just got this nice review for our Japanese Phrases and Lessons iPhone / iPad app:

Amazing – Amazing app very useful and full of Interesting pages but can feel a bit clunky at times, when trying to turn page you have to push a button that does not always pop up. Would be 5 stars if they implemented the swipe page function. All in all great app with fully voiced words and phrases 4/5

I have no way to contact him or her to ask him or her more questions. The flashcards and study cards do have a swipe feature. It is possible that person isn’t aware of that because–at least for the flashcards–you have to start the swipe outside the card. (starting the swipe inside the card turns the flashcard over, naturally)

If you have ANY questions or problems with the app, please contact me directly first. I am always looking for ways to improve this app.

iTunes, it would be nice to be able to leave a comment on a comment at least–the way Amazon.com does for book reviews.

Still, it was a nice review–thank you!

This app allows you to understand how sentences are constructed in Japanese and also to learn vocabulary in context.

The heart of the app is the “My Dialogs” section.

Tapping Dialogues will pull up the below:

This main Dialogue page shows all your installed Dialogue Packs. A Dialogue Pack is a group of dialogues in a theme such as at a restaurant, with a friend, or on a date.

Since this is a fresh install, only the free dialogues are shown. If you buy a Dialogue Pack (in oMise or tapping “Get more Dialogs.”), you will see it here after downloading.

Tapping FREE Dialogues will show all the dialogues in that Dialogue Pack:

The Free Dialogue Pack comes with 4 dialogues, but each paid Dialogue Pack comes with 7 to 20 dialogues.

Choose a particular dialogue and the following screen appears:

The default is to hide romaji and English. You can change the default in the Options menu.

Tapping “Show Romaji” and “Show English” gives us a screen like this:

  1. Go Back goes to the main Dialogues menu
  2. View Vocabulary shows all the vocabulary in alphabetical order from this particular dialogue. Tap any word there to hear it spoken.
  3. The  button plays the entire dialogue in order. You can set it to play pauses for repetition in the Options menu.
  4. Tap each line to hear just that line.
  5. Tap the  to read grammatical and cultural notes and view all the vocabulary broken down for just that line. Tapping any word there will play the sound:

Tapping  will show all the vocabulary from all dialogues installed. You can search and tap to hear it spoekn. Right now, that is all it does, but we plan to add flashcards, quizzes, and games to make this section as interactive as the Dialogues section.

Tapping  allows you to purchase and instantly download other Dialogue Packs. Please check out our selection!

Tapping  brings up the Options menu:

Here you can:

  1. Set the font size
  2. Toggle Romaji
  3. Toggle English
  4. And have the button pause for repetition or just play straight through

Please contact us if you have any questions or if anything is unclear. We will add to this tutorial as we get feedback.

Here’s to your Japanese!
